The Million Dollars Question

No its not Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on telly.

But 3rd, 4th, 6th, 8th Aunty plus a couple more relatives cornering me at weddings and goes in a melodramatic voice: "Boy ah! When is your turn ah? Aunty waiting very long to drink your tea leah!"

So through out the years, I have formulated 10 great responses to the question, which don't really work as they tend to do it again the very next wedding:

1. I am gay and go on about true love between Leslie Chung and Mr Tang.
2. Want to concentrate on studies/career/volunteer work.
3. Waiting for the right one to appear and give a citeria that even ms universe can't fit.
4. Waiting for you to introduce but backfired as some did really introduce.
5. Can't afford to get married and bring the conversation to bad economical climate.
6. Got attend SDS activities but most of the people turn out to be gays & lesbians.
7. Don't want to give up the sky for a single star.
8. My true love married my best friend and too heartbroken to start new relationship.
9. Have to divorce after getting married and tells her how many divorced couples I know.

If all else fails, I still have an ace which I have never used nor the courage to do so ~

10. Ask them at the next funeral: when is your turn.

Mundane

Accompanied Hamster today.

Went to POSBank at Thomson Plaza to apply for his ATM Card, then to see a doctor at Ang Mo Kio. We bought lunch back to eat at his house. Watched Cable TV and fell asleep.

Met up with Iggy to watch The Wild at Junction8. Nice show.

Sianz.

Tired

Was a sleepless nite.

Most people will say that beauty is skin deep, what counts is the character and personality that lie beneath.

Is it? First Impression lasts.

Some people whom I am keen in acknowledge that I am kind, caring, concerned, sensitive and so on. The only hurdle they can't overcome is my looks. So sad. Anywhere I can go to change my face? Not too expensive hor, cause I am really broke nowadays.

Looking at the people around my age, most are successful in one way or another. I envy them and also hate myself.

I give my 100% in whatever I do but it is also this committing myself that burnt me out, or inviting out-of-the-blue trouble for myself which ends up hurting myself. Some people I know don't even put in 50% of the effort yet they reap wonderful returns.

So damn tired.

Swing

Had a very bad mood swing earlier on.

For no rhyme and reason. Just sat in a corner of the garden in Toa Payoh Central and cried for half an hour. The more I cry, the more depress I become. The more depress I became, I start to think of all the failures I had in life, 4the more I cry. Then looking back at some of the people whom I helped but bite me in return, the more I cry.

Lost, Helpless, Lonely, Cold.

Sunday

Lazy Sunday.

Didn't plan to go out today. Spent the better part of the day surfing random sites on the Net, reading blogs, forums and what nots.

Met up with Joe whom I chatted online earlier on and had some good fun. Have not been so relaxed for sometime.

I have mixed feelings for Sundays, but I don't really like Sundays most of the time. Seems very hollow and lost on Sundays.

Vesak

A day I used to love in my younger days, a day I grew to dread as I grew up and a day I try to elude for the past few years.

Anyway, this year I had the sudden urge to visit a temple to pay homage to The Buddha before going anywhere. So I went to Shuang Lin Monastery, the nearest to my home to bathed the Buddha and pay my respect to The Enlightened.

Other than that, I did things that a good buddhist shouldn't and wounldn't do.

Dead

Went to attend a funeral today.

3 Finger's Aunty funeral. He has another Aunty who is very closed to the dead one and she was all dramatic with the wailing, crying, rolling on the floor when the hearse moves out. Later at the Crematorium, she even banged her head against the wall. Many were teary eyed.

After the funeral, we went to Jurong West Block 466 for a recce. The tentage is all ready just waiting for the action to start. Old Uncle greeted us and even said that he is wondering if I will turn up to help this year.

Had a good chat with Jason, Jeremy and Vincent at one of the Macs before hoping over to Hamster's house to slack and watched movies on Cable TV. Wanted to come home in the evening after watching 2 moivies but the rain was too heavy to move, so stayed on to watched another one. The rain stopped just when the movie about to end.

My life recently seems so dead recently.

Spicy

Didn't plan to go out today.

But as Cauli is on half day leave today, so met up with her to eat at the usual Korean Restuarant in Chinatown. They just revamped the menu with some new dishes and Cauli had Hot Stone Bowl Rice while I had Spicy Ramen which was very very hot!

We like eating at the place as they always serve some side dishes before the main course and we always agreed that with some rice and the side dishes, it would already make a good meal. Moreover, they constantly change the side dishes so we are never tired of eating there.

We originally want to have tea session at Tea Chapter but feel that the afternoon heat is too much for us to bear if we want to walk from Mosque Street to Neil Road so we found ourselves in Chinatown Point looking at the handicraft shops instead. Wanted to laze in Nines Cafe but felt that there are too many people there for our comfort.

So we ended up in Tea Joy at North Bridge Road for our tea session.Cauli mentioned that Tong Teng is in town, so she called him on the mobile to join us. He lookes more much more matured and also put on some weight since I last saw him almost 3 years ago.

Caught up with what I was doing after I left the temple and how his Orchird Garden in Hawaii is progressing while brewing and enjoying 5 diferent kind of tea. We had to stop when Cauli really cannot take it and went back home.

Met up with Justin for Ice Kachang after dinner and bumped into Tango Gula at the Lorong 5 Hawker Center. Chatted with Justin awhile about work and the upcoming In Camp Training. Had to cut the met-up short as I had the urge to shit!

I almost ran back home and as my luck would go, there were many people in the same lift with me and the lift stopped a few time before my floor! I was like twitching in a very funny way and the the people in the same lift lift must be wondering what;s wrong with me!

Just made it to the toilet in time... Haiz... Too Spicy food plus Too Much Tea equals to Toilet Rush! Chatted online awhile and forced Yun to give me his new blog address. After reading their blog and chatting with his new boy friend, whom I know earlier on before they met each other, I am quite content that they are serious about each other. I am just concern that Yun don't get hurt.

Need to rush to the Toilet again!

Wedding

Woke up just in time to accompany Mum to fetch GrandMa for Chong's wedding.

When we reached Grand's place, she is not ready yet - as usual. It happens to be 7th Aunt's birthday and I got a piece of her birthdya cake for my breakfast. We reached 4th Aunt's house shortly after the bride arrived and waited awhile before all the senior relatives arrived for the tea ceremony.

After a very nice buffet lunch, we went over to the couple's new house. It quite nicely done up and the block is just next to the Kallang Swimming Pool, so convinent for them as they both love to swim. We also agreed that their place would be ideal for us cousins to gather as we always want to get together but usually call off due to lack of location.

Slept the afternoon away and woke up close to 6 to prepare for the dinner. I wanted to put on a tie initially but decided against it. However when we reached the restuarant, 4th Aunt chided me for not putting on a tie saying that Chong and me are the closest among the cousins; I should put on a tie. She borrowed one from somewhere and I happily tied myself up.

Teased the groom earlier in the morning when I saw him:"Is this the correct girl you are marrying? She don't look like the usual girl you bring on our outings." Irene was like so big eyed untill I told her she look much more pretty then usual.

Weddings, don't ask me when is my tun.
